I agree. Reward players for completing hard tasks. Imagine how different destiny would have been if you had to do something similar to this to get Gjallyhorn. That would have done 2 things
1. Reward the players that completed the hard task

2. Took away the RNG of the gun, getting rid of the whole "NEED 331 GJALLYHORN FOR CROTA" problem that plagued LFG.
