Challenge Based Reward Weapons (Destiny)

Awesome addition* to the game. The Chaperone, Black Spindle, Boolean Gemini, Exotic Swords... I'm sure we'll find others but right now I love that there truly are weapons in this game that tell other people what you did and how good you had to be to do it.

Additionally, I applaud Bungie on making these all require different and varying degrees of skill so far, keeping casual players in line for a couple of them while rewarding the more hardcore for serious effort.


*I say "addition" fully recognizing that Thorn is one of these as well, though getting the exotic missive is still RNG-based, so it's possible for someone to have never had the opportunity to do it.

This is a good time to bring back my concept for a triggered enemy (except change "Defiled" to "Taken").

Bungie implemented a lot of things that I wanted to see in the game, and I think with the way missions can be tweaked (such as the end of Cayde's stealth code mission) opens up possibilities for stuff like this.

The Sunless Cell boss battle is exactly the type of encounter that I had in mind for the concept, and the mission where you go under the Steppes in pure darkness is exactly the way I wanted the event to occur (familiar place, only shrouded in Darkness).

It's great to see that Bungie has actually implemented these indirect paths (and special enemies) to unique rewards. That's another sock for you to eat, Funkmon...
