Statistically, movie trailers that spoil the entire plot are the most effective at getting people to go buy tickets to a film. Does that mean every trailer should basically tell you the entire story?
No? There are other ways to do cool trailers? Oh.
Exactly, there is more than one way. And Bungie and Activision are using their trailers to make two different types of trailers to attract as large an audience as possible. AND without spoiling the story.
My point is, you don't have to make a shitty trailer to appeal to a huge audience, as proven time and time again by Bungie before Destiny.
And they fire the one guy who spoke up about the trailers being shitty.
