I played a couple hours last night. I like it so far. It’s but the massive game changer it was hyper to be, but if you liked the modern Deus Ex games, it’s a good one of those.

…is it though?

So there's a heist. There's a big song and dance about using the brain dance to locate the safe and security systems. So cool. I figured I'd have to figure out how to get in, which could be accomplished in a variety of ways. but… no. You just do exactly what the game prompts you to do, do some scripted stuff with the hammerhead, and you go get the biochip. Then a mandatory combat section.

Like… no. Maybe it opens up, but so far I haven't had to make one real decision, or really been given any freedom or responsibility for accomplishing the goals. Keep in mind the very first level of Deus Ex was a masterclass in non linear multiple solutions mission design.

Doesn't feel like much of a heist when it's all decided and planned for me.
