I just don't get into week long events (Destiny)

If I do have time to grind, I get burned out and don't want to play once it's over. If I don't have time to grind, I don't want to play because what's the point. These short time gates work against their goal of having consistent engagement with the game. Long grinds are ok, but they're better if I can do them on my own time. I'm more annoyed than having fun if I feel like I have to drop other activities to not miss out on something.
