Is anyone else experiencing "New Gear Bottleneck"? (Destiny)

I avoid it by not caring about Trials or hard mode raiding. It does sound like a legitimate and frustrating (if 1%) problem though.

Yeah, it feels like a "Destiny year 1" kind of problem to me: I have a blast with my absolute favorite activities, but getting to those activities is a major headache.

Maybe Etheric Light or some such thing should be a very top tier reward that instantly pushes items above 300 to whatever the max Light Level is?

That's an interesting idea. Some other suggestions I've heard include changing infusion so that you get 100% of the value of the infused gear, rather than an 80% gain. Also raising the frequency and/or minimum light level of raid & trials drops.
