Is anyone else experiencing "New Gear Bottleneck"? (Destiny)

Anyone else finding themselves in a similar loop? Just me?

No, it's not just you. I don't play nearly as much, and I remember joking about how I was a higher light level than you somehow. Which is strange because I certainly don't FEEL like I'm getting lucky drops.

First of all, the majority of the infusion I have done is infusing exotics into other items, and infusing raid gear into other items. It was weird at first, since I'm used to holding on to raid weapons and exotics, but it became clear that guns are supposed to be disposable in this game. So while you have tons of options, you kind of have to pick one and stick with it, which kind of negates having options does it not?

So how do we fix this mess? Simple:

You could restructure the way infusion works. Here is what I would do. You can either infuse for free, or use resources. Using resources gets you 100% of the light, and doing it for free gets you 80% or whatever the current amount is. Congrats to me, I've also just alleviated the weapon part shortage as well. It's absurd that you need THREE to FOUR 320 weapons to bring a 280 weapon up to 320.

This isn't all that you'd need though since you still have to get that higher drop to begin with. You simply need to add a way to add light to any given weapon. Perhaps via motes of light. 10 motes raises the light value by 1. There. I'm a fucking genius.

Now you've got a much better system.
