I like the new light system (Destiny)

It felt like everyone in HoW was 34 which made the levels nearly pointless in the competitive PvP modes. I think it's cool how we have a variety of levels even though they make only minor differences. That minor difference may be enough to save your life though. It is tricky how most of the high light gear is only obtained through the toughest content, but that makes sense doesn't it? I can see how the RNG nature of it can be frustrating for the truly hardcore. You may put in more time than some of your other friends, but still not be able to surpass them in Light.

I like that if I get a crappy gun that I would normally shard, I can get some use out of it if it does have a higher light than my current gun. I know in some cases, we feel the need to use the higher light gear because of the 80% infusion rate, but I think the only thing in the game that really requires max light is the Hard Mode Oryx battle.

I will say that I do play with fewer guns and armor pieces though. I have 2 primaries I run consistently, Hung Jury and Nirwens. They are my highest light, but are also outstanding guns. There is something about the TTK system that has really made me focus on building a great setup, rather than being experimental and keeping lots of viable options around. I guess I am getting funneled into a set. Huh, never really thought of it that way. I like it though because it has allowed me to build a great No Backup Plans roll for my Defender that works great in both PvE and PvP.
