I've always wanted to build my own computer but then it just seemed way to much effort for the benefits...

Also, if you hadn't figured it out, I'm a Mac guy so building a hackintosh is hella complicated so I didn't even bother.

It's not that bad. It's gotten a lot better in recent years (although El Capitan is making some things more complicated again.)

There are some very detailed guides and if you follow them closely, it's not too bad.

At the end of the day, it isn't brain science, just rocket surgery.
