I just think Cayde is simply Space Malcolm Reynolds (which is very distinct from regular Malcolm.. somehow) + a little extra ham to be on the safe side. We're talking about the character that said "Now, you can luxuriate in a nice jail cell, but if your hand touches metal, I swear, by my pretty floral bonnet, I will end you."
I haven't seen Deadpool. Don't want to. And don't know the history of the character or his characterization in the past. It just irks me somehow that a Nathan Fillion character, especially western-ish hunter Cayde-6, would be compared to anybody other than Malcolm Reynolds. :p
One could argue that Malcome Reynolds is basically a PG-13 Deadpool ;p
(^ not really, but Deadpool was doing that sort of irreverent humour long before Firefly)
