Eeeeeeeh.

I don't know about any other English majors here, but that seems a misapplication of the term. This isn't a third act ass-saving maneuver by eagles swooping down over Mount Doom; this is setting the stage.


Setting the stage for us, players. Ass-saving for the Golden Age humans.

I mean, if it can resurrect just about anyone, why didn't it do that as soon as the first human died?

Now, if it can only resurrect a few, lest it spend its entire energy, suddenly resurrection holds a lot more weight.

It would make sense that the Traveller would selectively pick which humans to resurrect; figuring that the bang-for-the-buck in regards to lethality would need to be maximized. Especially if the energy (or what-have-you) that it uses is a limited resource.
