Yes I agree. But you have situations now where the mechanics actually clash with the aesthetics to create a disconnect.
This is one of my biggest pet peeves. Especially when the game narrative is trying to make a point about violence and it's deleterious effects, only to have you slaughter the next 20 people you encounter...
