I think Destiny PS3 is the community-friendly choice.

The ultimate choice would have course been Mac/PC/Linux.

Since it's always connected, there's zero chance of piracy. No fragmentation since anyone with a client can connect to the same server as everybody else. Keyboard / Mouse FPS awesomeness. PC game sales made more money last year than console game sales.

From where I'm sitting, the ultimate social shared world shooter should have been that.

As for your assertion, Destiny is a 10 year property, so I very much doubt in 10 years the PS3 / Xbox 360 will get the new content. If you intend to stay, you gotta go next gen. That would make PS4 the best choice.

I am reluctantly forced to agree.

As I still have working 360s, that'd probably be my first choice, but only because no PC or Mac version has been annouced. Otherwise I'd go for that.

Right now neither of the next-gen consoles particularly interests me, but the Xbone interests me less than either the PS4 or the 360s I already own.

Microsoft's recent assertion that "backwards compatibility makes you backwards" I find unintentionally hilarious, as their entire WIndows hegemony was built directly upon it. I was grateful to have backwards compatibility on the 360. Given the 360's notorious hardware problems, it would be even more valuable to have in the Xbone. I wonder how many cents per unit they are saving by not implementing that.

Right now it is hard to imagine why I'd want the new Xbox. I just can't think of a reason.
