That your current-gen copy of Destiny 1 WILL NOT play on either of the next-gen systems. So you'll have to haul out the old boxes just to step back in time on the same series.

Or buy a copy of the 1st game for the new platform when you buy the 2nd game to go with that platform. It'd be on sale by then, and possibly for direct download.

Since both new platforms have ditched backwards compatibility, they both have the same problem, so there's no reason to pick one over the other due to which you chose last generation.

Probably more relevant for 360 owners since eventually they'll all fail, and even if MS keeps them on sale, I'm not sure I see the point. Too bad MS killed the idea of hardware compatibility through a peripheral.
