And I agree with him :) (Destiny)

I'm not talking about drops. Drop rate - absolutely the cave drops more engrams, but you have zero control over the type of drop, let alone what the item is - if it even decrypts to legendary. With the patrols and the strikes, you have total control over the type of loot and the specific item you want, you just have to grind it out. Grind your rep to Vanguard or Faction rank 2, and grind the marks to buy the armor.

Right like I said, I am doing the patrols and strikes but they do NOT get my level up. Here's my situation:

I want Crucible to be fun.
I want to play high level Strikes
I want to play the Raid (if possible)

To do this I need to get my level up. There is the long path of grinding rep, but I am still far away from that. I can get my level up and get better weapons and reach my goal much faster. Once I can play high level Strikes / Raid then I can earn serious marks and rep. The fastest way for me to make this more fun is to get access to those two things. Which means better equipment, which means the cave.

It'll take two weeks with no drops and maxing your marks every week.

It took me two days to go from 21 to 23 at the cave. Two weeks is significantly slower.

EDIT: Don't forget about The Crucible. 2oo marks per week can net you two armor pieces.

See above: currently not fun for me.
