Eurogamer's Digital Foundry ran the Destiny E3 demo through their standard framerate test, and found that "even at this early, pre-production phase, overall performance is tight." Beyond just the framerate, though, they liked what they saw - go read the whole review! Thanks, broony.
Everyone's favorite summer holiday is swiftly approaching: that cherished time of year when you can grab a nice, frosty beverage from cold storage, grill up a spectacular steak or two, and laugh maniacally as a giant slingshot hurls your enemies into the sun. Yes, I'm talking about Bungie Day - July 7th. IGN's Ryan McCaffrey certainly seems excited, and the official Bungie twitter account has been alluding to an entire week of celebration! If you're not Twitter-savvy (I'm looking at you, Claude), check out this thread on our forum for a quick compilation of details and rumors.
Today might have been light on Destiny news, but fear not, for Bungie Day is only a week away. What wonders await us on the seventh day of the seventh month? If you care to speculate, kidtsunami has a fun thread for you, or we can all just pass the time by staring at this awesome new sketch Levi made of "that guy from the trailer". (Click for full-size.)
Let's catch up on some interesting Destiny press - first up, Digital Trends wrote an article called 'Destiny may actually be as good as you hope it is'. (It came out during E3, but we missed it, and it's a really nice summary of what we might expect, and why there's reason to trust what we haven't seen yet.) Give it a read!
We sat down with Chris Butcher during the madness of E3 and asked a bunch of questions that were burning holes in our pockets (and our brains). He answered a lot of them. (Forgive us for the camera focus; our second unit had issues.) Go check it out - and then swing by our forum... if you have further questions, you might just find answers!
Digitial Foundry posted a video analysis of the Destiny E3 gameplay demo - looks like the game is running at a locked 30fps. That's pretty impressive considering the scale of the game.
Bungie's not just a company that makes killer games - they also take care of gamers in ways that simply brighten my day. Swing by Bungie.net today to read about how Bungie is easing the pain at Seattle Children's Teen Center. It's not Destiny-related... but it's one of the many reasons I love these guys.
UncookedMoa wanted to share their fan-made Destiny trailer, "We Are Guardians", featuring "Final Hour" by X-Ray Dog. I think the result is pretty slick! Check it out!
Looks like we spoke a touch too soon, as Bungie also put up "That's a Wrap", capping off their E3 recap series. Go enjoy! I know the DBO community is especially thankful for all the magic that Bungie provided the world over this past week. Can't thank them enough, and couldn't be more excited to await our Destinies...

When Hedge is excited, the birds fly lighter, the tides rise higher, the chocolate tastes sweeter, the kiss lasts longer, the love grows stronger. When Hedge is excited, we are excited.

Eric Osborne talked to MCV recently - you can read a small excerpt in this promo piece, or you can grab a digital copy (for £1.99) from their website. And you can also read an article written by the brother of a Bungie fan - one that uses Destiny as an example to help to explain why sites like this one exist. Great stuff!
samurai let us know that German fansite DestYnation is hosting a giveaway for German residents - top prize is a Nexus 7 tablet with Destiny branding. Awesome! Swing by to see how you can get in on the action. (Remember, you must be a resident of Germany.)

Bungie Mobile App users were recently greeted with a bug fix update for Android and iOS devices - some users discovered that they now had the ability to read and post on the Bungie.net forums directly from the app. According to DeeJ, a small group of frequent forum users have been granted access to the test version of the mobile Bungie.net forums. Don't worry, the update will continue to rollout to more users, eventually. Thanks, Xenos.
