That's what I mean: It's bad for the *industry*. In the space where you'd buy 6 game titles, you're instead only buying 1 and paying for its xpacs or monthly fee (usually the equivalent of 2 full games) so the industry as a whole loses 2/3 of its revenue. Sure, the company that made the one killer MMO is raking in the dough, but there's absolutely no guarantee that their MMO will still be *the* MMO next year. Of course by then it's too late; the cycle has shifting and now they're selling significantly less product.

It also means that these big companies are focusing resources on having the one killer MMO, which means a lot less overall game diversity and experimentation.
