As usual roland stopped by our forums to inform us about another great episode of Guardian Radio! Since this is their last episode before the launch they cover their launch day plans, as well as covering the latest news on Destiny. Go give it a listen!
The Inquisitor points out the fact that since Bungie announced that the Destiny servers are going live on September 9th on the International Date Line, the game could technically be played before the official US release...if you somehow already have a copy.
(Note: DBO Health and Safety does not advocate breaking street dates.)
Gamasutra interviewed Jason Sussman about the art direction of Destiny, and since Bungie's departments work very closely he talks a lot about design and gameplay decisions. (INSANEdrive also pointed it out on the forum)
roland stopped by the forum to let us know that Guardian Radio #74 has been posted online. This week they went through the newly released trailers for Destiny with Datto. Great show as usual, go give it a listen!
PackLeader89 informed the board that GameStop has begun pre-selling an expansion pass for Destiny which covers The Dark Below (Hive-themed) and House of Wolves (Fallen-focused). I hope they post-sell it, too.
Guardian Radio marches on with episode 73 as they reminisce on their Beta characters, chat about clans, and await the final game in just a few short weeks. Listen on YouTube, iTunes, or straight from their website. Thanks, Roland.
Ragashingo's been hard at work crafting new stories for us to read. He submitted four new installments last week that introduce us to new characters and begin to build a latticework of connections to others we've already met.
Go read!roland let us know about the latest Guardian Radio podcast - a guest host from GuardianOne.net discusses some future changes. Listen in to learn about Byf's visit to the Seattle Children's Hospital, plus a wrapup of the Beta (through the lens of Bungie's released stats). Good stuff!
narcogen and friends ran through the Devil's Lair Strike in the Beta as the last installment of the special Anger, Sadness, Envy series on the Destiny Beta; you can watch their shenanigans on YouTube.
Bungie themselves posted a short (but pretty sweet) teaser for the Beta - if you need your whistle whet, this is just the clip to do it!
IGN posted a trailer teasing the coverage they'll have of Destiny starting this Monday, July 7. Pretty exciting stuff! Thanks, SigbiasSilva.
roland stopped in to announce that Guardian Radio Episode 67 is now online, in a variety of formats. They've got a new staff member, Fenix, and he was present during this 'cast. Discussion focused on the latest Bungie Weekly Update offerings, though as always there's additional fun. Go listen!
TechRadar has a fun piece in which Eric Osborne reassures fans worried about a low level cap in Destiny that there will be more than enough to keep them entertained:
"We've named a raid, but that's just one of the examples of the kind of stuff we want to give player," he said. "Once they reach what they believe is the peak in the game, then we really just want to blow their minds with a whole bunch of crazy, like, 'Now go try that!'"
Not too much longer to wait until we get to experience that for ourselves! Thanks, bluerunner.
The Guardians of Destiny got together again last night, and recorded Episode 66 of their Guardian Radio podcast - swing by to hear all the discussion about the E3 reveals, the lowdown on the Playstation Exclusive content, the speculation about how it's all going to come together! (There's also a pretty funny little radio promo.) Thanks, as always, to roland, for keeping us in-the-know. (Multiple link options in his forum post.)
The last segment of the Anger, Sadness, and Envy Special Look at the Destiny Alpha went live today - narcogen let us know that Rampancy.net's coverage of the Alpha Strike is up. Check it!
Narcogen, Blackstar, and Cody Miller continue their look at the Destiny Alpha with Anger, Sadness and Envy Special: Destiny Alpha Part 5, focusing on The Crucible. Discussion revolves around how the various features of Destiny's multiplayer affect your actual gameplay experience. Go watch!
Narcogen, Blackstar, and Cody Miller got back together for another segment of the Anger, Sadness, and Envy take on the Destiny Alpha; this time, it's a discussion of the Alpha's Exploration mode. Optimism and pessimism, all mixed into the same discussion! Go listen.
Over at Rampancy.net, the latest episode of Anger, Sadness, and Envy focuses on the Destiny Alpha; Cody Miller describes what he experienced, and answers questions for Narcogen and Blackstar. It's pretty interesting how much trouble he has getting his point across sometimes... it really does seem like it's hard to grok what Destiny brings to the table without actually playing it.
Ragashingo took a closer look at the beginning of the E3 Experience Trailer and posted a write-up in the forum. Go check it out and add your two cents!
Check this out - posted on the DestinyTheGame instagram feed. Thanks, GrimBrother III.
The latest episode of Guardian radio has been deployed. In this episode Byf presents his theories on the origin of The Fallen, which leads to some pretty interesting discussion. Go listen! Thanks, petetheduck.
Last night's Guardian Radio had, as promised, a special guest - DeeJ sat in and shared. It's a solid two hours, so make sure you have some free time to listen to this one. Thanks, roland!
Should have posted this earlier, but hey - life's busy sometimes. roland let us know that Guardian Radio Episode 58 was released - there's a bunch of discussion about the departure of Marty O'Donnell, and what that might mean for everyone. Go listen - things are sure to heat up soon, and who knows how much time you'll have for the dulcet tones of the Guardian crew?
