Hedge posted in the forum to let us know that the latest PlayStation Blogcast (#90) has an interview with Bungie community manger Eric Osborne (Urk)! It sounds like this is the first in a number of Bungie interviews they'll be presenting in their podcast! The entire episode clocks in at 1 hour 45 minutes, and the Urk interview kicks off at 15:10 and lasts around 12 minutes.
The crew from GameOverCast were able to grab some time with DeeJ during Gamescom - and they've included the interview on their latest podcast. DeeJ does a masterful job of deflecting all the specific questions while still providing some tasty content, and reminds you why Bungie's being coy in the first place. It's worth a listen! (The podcast is nearly 2 hours, and the Destiny content begins more than halfway through - but they're giving away a bunch of cool stuff, including a Tritton headset - so you might want to listen to the entire thing.) Thanks to radarhead for letting us know on our forum. (His post includes an iTunes link if you'd rather listen there.)
Ragashingo is back again with his series, this time examining the enemy of the Guardians we know most about: The Fallen. Go dive into the thread he's started and add your own theories!
A significant percentage of DBO's news staff were traveling back home (or cleaning up their home) on Wednesday... which explains how a few items slipped through the cracks that day. (Actually, screw it. It's Levi's fault - he was too busy messing around with his stupid pens and stuff. Or something. I'm docking his pay. Well... I guess he could draw something to make it up to me.) First up: The Guardians of Destiny released Episode 27 of Guardian Radio - lots and lots of discussion, these guys surprise me with the depth of content for a game that is nowhere near out yet! Go listen. (Thanks, roland - both for the heads-up and the rover!)
Ragashingo continues his weekly tradition (cereal, cartoons, AND wild speculation - how could Saturdays get better?) with a new focus: the why and wherefores of the Solar System's infamous fall after the Golden Age (which was last week's focus). Go read his posts to get caught up on the facts and some of his own interpretations and then jump in on the fun yourself!
roland dropped by to let us know that episode 26 of Guardian Radio is out. The crew gather to dissect the latest Destiny ViDoC, "Out Here in the Wild", and talk about Destiny's showing at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. Go listen!
Destiny is a universe filled with mysteries for us to uncover, but why wait for the game to release to start unraveling the unknown? Ragashingo put together a speculation thread that takes a closer look at our mysterious past - grab your deerstalker hat and join in on the conversation!
The Guardians of Destiny have unleashed another episode of Guardian Radio, with "My Name is Byf" filling in for an absent Watts. The gang talks about the latest Bungie news before reading through a collection of listener emails and forum posts. Give it a listen! (Thanks, roland.)
Guardian Radio episode 24 is live - the crew discuss the latest Bungie mail sack, Destinypedia's interview with Bungie President Harold Ryan as well as the idea of Trolls in Destiny. There's also some interesting Star Wars trivia to check out! Thanks, Roland.
invsmchn put together some slick looking special edition Destiny steel cases - there's a Playstation 4 and Xbox One version. Check them out!
The two pieces of fan art you see above come from the folks at Destiny Dispatch, who just launched a new fan site and accompanying podcast. If you like the art style, keep an eye out for more - it sounds like this is only the first wave!
Episode 22 of Guardian Radio is out (thanks, roland) wherein The Guardians of Destiny guys discuss the latest Bungie mail sack and Urk's interview with MMORPG.com before speculating on the origins of The Traveler with guest MyNameIsByf. Give it a listen!
The Guardians of Destiny have released another episode of Guardian Radio - this one has quite a bit Halo content in addition to its regular Destiny content (due to this week's guest, Podtacular's Dust Storm). An interesting listen! Thanks, roland.
Grab your favorite pair of ears and subject them to Episode Two of The Starside Lounge. Four members of the DBO admin team set aside their differences to discuss every Bungie fan's most coveted game: Wreckateer. Somewhere between tales of giant slingshots and crumbling castles, the group manages to sneak in a few Destiny-related thoughts about our Chris Butcher interview, Bungie Week, Jason Jones, fan creativity, and of course: SPACE MAGIC!
(In addition to streaming or downloading from our Starside Lounge page, you can also listen on YouTube and subscribe through iTunes!)
The Guardians of Destiny are back with another episode of Guardian Radio - they discuss the recent Bungie jamboree and are joined by Greenskull from Ready Up Live to discuss the latest Destiny news. Go listen! Thanks, Roland.
The third and final part of Ryan McCaffrey's interview with Jason Jones is now available over on IGN. Today's discussion covers the lack of replay incentives in Halo, sheds some light on the ill-fated Phoenix project, gives us a few more hints at what we'll be experiencing in Destiny, and ends in a bit of a cliffhanger! If you missed the first and second parts of the interview, be sure to check those out first.
Ryan McCaffrey asks Jason Jones about his 17-point design philosophy, his personal gaming habits, and the biggest gamble of his career in Part Two of IGN's interview with the humble co-founder of Bungie. If you haven't read Part One yet, be sure to start with that. Part Three will conclude the interview tomorrow morning.
Bungie Week is in full stride, and IGN's Ryan McCaffrey has joined the celebration with Part One of his three-part interview with mythic Bungie co-founder Jason Jones. (Parts Two and Three will go live on Monday and Tuesday, so be sure to check back then for more of the story.) The article is a fascinating read, touching on Jason's role in the day-to-day operation of his growing company and how he approaches the design of a project as ambitious as Destiny. Discussion briefly moves to the legendary story of the Halo CE pistol and how Jason added some last-minute code to turn it into the deadly handcannon we love and fear. Blam! (Thanks, marmot 1333.)
The Guardians of Destiny crew have yet another cornucopia of Destiny discussion mashed into podcast format for you - Guardian Radio Episode 18 went live today. From the newest Mail Sack to international interviews, they're covering a huge swath of Destiny content released recently. Go listen! Thanks, roland.
PGCR's newest podcast series, Postgame Community Corner, covers all sorts of topics - episode 3 is all about Destiny and how Bungie transitions from making Halo games to building a whole new universe. Thanks, Robowski.
The Guardians of Destiny have released Guardian Radio Episode 17 - great conversation, a hidden gem from Craig Hardgrove spawned from anger at the Xbox 360, and an amazing discovery by Chris Maselli (see below) - go explore! It's 90 minutes of discussion, with highlights from the recent AusGamers interview of Chris Butcher. (Thanks, roland.)
If you preordered Destiny at Amazon, you likely received an email today that included some information about a release date. (marmot 1333 posted the relevant portion on our forum this morning.) Before you get too excited... you should double-check the actual page at Amazon - in includes this tidbit, as well:
So... yeah. Take that June 30 date for what it is - an acknowledgement that it will be out in 2014. Sometime.
That's right - The Starside Lounge podcast is now avalible on iTunes!
