Saw a post on reddit, from /u/Pixel_Bright - it contains a series of postcards from around the solar system. I love these! Check 'em out.
Do you use Amazon Alexa? Do you play Destiny 2? You can combine these products with a new free skill, available for Amazon Alexa devices, and enhance your overall Destiny 2 experience! You link it to your Bungie.net account, and it can help with all sorts of things, from info about activities to equipping loadouts. The Destiny the Game website has an entire page devoted to this skill, if you need more info before you get started (or if you need help finding enabled Alexa devices). Again - this skill is free, if you've already got an Alexa device. If you really want to push into the world of integration, you can buy a $90 Ghost speaker for Alexa (this will be available on December 19, but can be preordered now). Not sure how this all works? Three minute-long videos have been posted - the first is embedded below, the other two are linked.

The IGN First content keeps on coming. This time showing off another new Crucible map, Vostok, which you'll probably agree looks pretty familiar... See the whole article on IGN, or watch the videos below:
This video was released almost 3 weeks ago, but hey - eggnog can make you groggy! Chris Butcher, Engineering Director at Bungie, gave a talk (well, participated in a one-on-one technical discussion, really) at HandmadeCon this past November, focusing on Asset Systems and Scalability. It's not really aimed at casual viewers; it's pretty technical, and might be boring to folks uninterested in programming. However, if this is your cup of tea, it's FASCINATING, and full of honest evaluation of an aspect of Bungie's workflow for Destiny. If you're interested in some of the differences between Halo and Destiny, under the hood, watch this. Thanks to Cody Miller for finding it. (The discussion on our forum might be of interest, as well.)
Bungie is bringing back the Festival of the Lost, with new decorations, new activities, and new goodies to collect. You can find more details on their Festival Landing Page, but the bottom line is this: starting tomorrow, October 25, and running for a couple of weeks, there'll be lots of silly things to see and do! They've even updated the Bungie Store to give you real-world goodies to buy (thanks, unoudid). Enjoy!
Once more unto the Reef, dear friends, as the final preview stream on Twitch sees DeeJ joined by the likes of Design Lead Lars Bakken, Designer Grant Mackay, and Designer Jon Weisnewski as they discuss Crucible changes, Warlock tweaks (still #1!), and sandbox evolution.
If you're unable to watch the Stream, the megathread over at Reddit will have all of the info, including a liveblog of the stream.
I have a feeling that folks will not have sheathed their swords for lack of argument after this stream, so feel free to join the discussion over on the forum!
This year Achievement Hunter used math to help them decide their Top 10 games, and they weren't very happy with the results, especially Destiny: The Taken King taking the #1 spot! Watch the video below:
We're a bit slow this week, but there's lot of new content for you on B.net. Patch 2.1.0 went live on Tuesday - you can read the full patch notes (edited today, in fact) there, or here, in our local archive. Some of the damage numbers were a bit wonky (and have been edited a couple of times now); explanations for these changes can be found in today's Bungie Weekly Update (also with a local copy). There's a boatload of other good stuff in there, too - including a piece from Urk which should allay your fears if you were one of the people who worried that 2016 would be full of events like the Sparrow Racing League, but no other substantial content. Finally, there was a Hot Fix this morning, correcting some unexpected behaviors brought on by the patch. (This is local, too.) Go read it all!
Halloween is in full swing at the Tower! Log in to Destiny, grab a mask, get a candy bag and get questing! While there's a few new cosmetic microtransactions if you're interested, there's still plenty to do and see for free! Check out Beorn's post in the forum for more screenshots and videos and read some tips on the best ways to enjoy this fun little event.
Meggon Woods let us know that she'd created this costume for Jaxx - first one she ever made! The helmet and the ghost are handmade. Fantastic!
Ragashingo experienced an ectoplasmic event the other day and lived to tell DBO about it! In the Hall of Vanguards he caught sight of a "ghost bird" and was able to record it. It's a little hard to see, but you can probably find it after a couple of viewings. If you ARE having trouble seeing it, Beorn's pointed it out for you!
When The Taken King launches, you won't be hearing Peter Dinklage as your Ghost anymore - even if you start the game over. Nolan North (who Bungie fans will remember as Romeo from ODST) is not only recording the dialogue for your Ghost for the forseen future, but also re-recording all of the previous lines by Dinklage as well. (CougRon was first on our forum in reporting this huge news from Game Informer.)
Interesting… Halo 3: ODST just shipped for Xbox One, and it looks like the famous, oracular “Destiny Awaits†in-game teaser poster has been changed for this release. The Earth and Traveler is now the Earth and Moon (although the arrangement is similar), the title text now reads, “For Her,†and a Misriah Armory logo adorns the bottom. Legalities are to blame, I presume, but it's still sad to see that egg get erased from the game. (Screenshot from NeoGAF).
Just your friendly-neighborhood DBO reminding you that you still have a little time to head over to the contest page and drop in your name for a chance at a Destiny Poster Collection or Destiny Journal from Insight Editions. Submissions end at 18:01 PM, UTC, Monday, March 16. (That's 2pm Monday afternoon, ET, 11 am Monday morning, PT, and so on.)
Speedracer513 found a collection of creative and colorful phone wallpapers/posters by Noble-6 on Destiny's SubReddit. Pretty!
Wow. I'm pretty sure I'd pay for Samuel L. Jackson as the Ghost, if it sounded anything like this:
(Thanks, Schedonnardus.)
Laird stopped by to let us know that he's put up a pair of autographed Destiny posters for auction on eBay and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Child's Play charity. (Item #1, Item #2) The auctions end on Monday, but get your bid in now if you're interested - it's for a good cause! (Thanks for being awesome, Laird.)
We got tipped that Noble--6 crafted up some neat posters - a few focusing on the locations you visit in Destiny and others highlighting the playable classes. Check out his DeviantArt Folder for all of 'em.
ShorList.com commissioned a number of Destiny posters by different artists in a variety of styles. There's some pretty neat pieces in there! (Found through The Geeky Nerfherder.)
Naturl selexion dropped by our forums to show off something the Vangards would be proud of:
Have access to a 3D printer? You can go to Thingiverse and print off your very own copy. If only you could 3d-print the voice of Peter Dinklage with it, too!
Strauss has some interesting questions to ask in the latest episode of the Ghosts and Echoes radio drama. Check out roland's post on the forum to choose from the handful of available formats and sources. Earth - City - receive!
Deviant art user shrimpy99 made this stunningly simple Destiny poster that would look great printed out as alternate box art. I'd take credit for finding this, but naturally Hedge pointed it out over a week ago!
We neglected to mention it when roland first announced it on our forum, but Ghosts and Echoes Episode 13 is live - this series continues to enthrall! Whether you've been keeping up, or you've never tried any of these podcasts, relevant links can be found in the forum post.
Strauss is having trouble while he ponders the metamorphosis of butterflies. Gheritt sings, Marcus delivers the keynote address to the Interplanetary Business Best Practices Forum, and the story of Jonathan Camden continues. References to the past abound, and the Watcher sees all.
roland let us know that Episode 12 of his Ghosts and Echoes radio drama is out and things are really starting to heat up:
We've reached a turning point. When Strauss is briefly shut down, a mysterious man appears. Marcus speaks of an asset, and a plan, while bringing disturbing news. We also hear the continuing stories of Jonathan Camden and Lord Gheritt.
You can find all twelve episode (and a brand-new iTunes link) over at the Ghosts and Echoes archive. Check it out!
