Gamereactor put up a meaty summary of what they saw at Bungie's headquarters - definitely worth a read. Great quotes from Bungie employees, great breakdowns of the info they were shown. Go see. Thanks, INSANEdrive.
Gamestop has a new Destiny pre-order "exclusive" today: a quicker, faster, more durable, specially-painted Sparrow (and apparently it's back to "Sparrow"). petetheduck found the news over on GAME.co.uk, and JDQuackers was quick to notice some important small-print in our forum stating the limits of the exclusivity. It sounds like the pre-order bonus will grant you a quickly-upgraded Sparrow that everyone else can obtain by end-of-year. You can check out the 40-second ad spot here:
Breitzen showed off his customized DJI Phatnom 1 VTOL quadcopter in our forums:
Looks cool! But I am a little frightened that if I kill his Guardian in the coming beta he'll send his drone after me in real life...
Again, good ol' Hedgem0ny does the hard part for us and we reap the rewards of a fancy news post. This time he brings us a beautiful digital painting inspired by Destiny by Jorge Jacinto called "Arrival".
Scott Shepherd (Technical Art Lead for Bungie's 3D Department) presented this year at GDC. The talk, Building Customizable Characters for Bungie's Destiny, is now available on the GDC Vault. In this hour-long presentation, Scott presents a ton of information about the vision and implementation of the character appearance and customization that we will experience in Destiny. The talk itself is about 40 minutes long, with another 20 minutes of Q&A afterward. Very interesting! (Thanks to Xenos for the heads-up!)
If you're itching to get a Bungie tattoo and need design ideas, DeviantART user WolfEyedHero has you covered with a nice selection of symbols lifted from the various gear seen in Destiny's trailers. I suppose you could use these images for other purposes, but until I think of a good one I'll just plan to get this Awoken Hunter symbol inked on my lower back. (Nice find, Hedge!)
... Is the title of this piece by VulcanRaptor as posted on his DeviantArt (which also showcases some Bungie-style Halo fanart as well). I love the fun, free-flowing style of the piece! Click the image to see it in its natural habitat.
DeeJ posted a quick note to the Bungie Blog today - it seems the Bungie Store will temporarily close for renovations in order to prepare the way for a new wave of loot. If you have your eye on something from the store's current stockpile of gear, you should grab it before Midnight (PST) this Friday!
Spent the day doing something very fun, some place very cool. pic.twitter.com/xyNGfeBRRH

Hmmm. Something tells me the highlight of Burnie's trip to Seattle was more than a stop at Starbucks.
Part Three in a delightful series of doctored photographs. Nice work, Firestream!
This almost made it to our final post of 2013 - but hey, isn't the first post of 2014 just as good? Datto did a great job of summarizing the Destiny data dump that took place over the course of December - if you worry that you might have missed something, this is the video to watch! Just 8 more months to go - less if you're counting the Beta! Welcome to the year of Destiny.
Bungie tweeted that their store's on sale today (20% off everything) - there should still be some time left if you're reading this post, depending on your time zone, of course. There's also a handful of recent additions to the store, especially if your Guardian's thirsty.
Just a quick heads-up that we've posted a local copy of our photos from the "Ghosts in the Machine" concept art gallery that opened on Thursday in Seattle.
Machinima Respawn host aplfisher visited Bungie headquarters during PAX and was lucky enough to get a full tour of the facility from DeeJ! Of course, he was only allowed to record video in the downstairs/lobby area, but you should still watch this if you'd like to see Troy McFarland's motion-capture kingdom - otherwise known as The Spandex Palace.
DattoDoesDestiny posted an August recap of Destiny news last week - if you feel like you might have missed some of the Destiny news that came out last month, this 6-minute video should summarize what we know, and help you feel comfortable that you're on top of the news to date.
Cal Carlson from the Bungie.net group "Art and Stuff" let us know that he's made a quartet of simple wallpapers that transform a familiar fireteam into a beautiful splash of color. You can grab the group image above or the three solo portraits from this gallery Cal set up. Polychromatic!
Does Noble Six believe in Space Magic? Would the Council of Elrond set their differences aside to select a Fireteam of the Ring? How do you distinguish between Tiger Man and a Kilrathi warrior? Ponder these questions as you gaze upon the finalists in the "Who's playing Destiny?" photoshop challenge from last week's Mail Sack, then head over to this Facebook gallery to vote on your favorite. Just remember: Bungie is trying to counter trolls for a reason.
Voting has opened up for the Destiny Movie Poster contest that started with last week's mail sack. Head over to this gallery on the Bungie Facebook page and cast your vote with a "Like" on the image of your choosing. Be sure to revisit the contest thread if you'd like to see all of the entries!
The Bungie Week festivities are spreading to the Bungie Store with a second salvo of E3 shirts in stock and available for purchase tomorrow. The stylish tees are joined by a trio of Guardian banners and a limited edition lithograph of "The Buried City". (That last item is NOT part of a private loot stream - there are only 150 of them available, but each is signed by the artist, Dorje Bellbrook, and all sales benefit the Child's Play Charity!) If you're looking to save a few credits at the Bungie Store, everything will be on sale for 20% off from July 6th to July 14th!
MoreConsole kicked off a fun discussion on our forum with his reminder that a recent Harold Ryan interview mentioned that your in-game Ghost will likely be customizable. Go toss in your own two cents!
Bungie.net user T1B3R1UMB0YXVI has created some very sharp desktop wallpapers featuring various logos from the Destiny universe. Check out this thread for the full collection of weathered images.
Looks like the PlayStation team wanted to thank Bungie for appearing at the Sony press conference by giving them an awesome custom PS3. Very cool!
