DBO at E3: Day One Photo Dump

DBO at E3

We've finally started uploading traveler content to our Vanguard Report page, beginning with a gallery of photos taken on Monday as DBO invaded the Microsoft and Sony press conferences. We also have a few shots from Tuesday's excursion to the Expo floor, so be sure to browse through to the end. There are more photo dumps to come (and maybe something more literary), so keep an eye on the Vanguard Report!

Destiny Takes over Into The Pixel

Into the Pixel is a well-known videogame art exhibition that has been seen before by Bungie/Halo fans - Halo artwork has graced the exhibit in 2009, 2010, and 2012. This year, two pieces from Destiny are among the 16 winners... gorgeous concept art from Dorje Bellbrook and Jaime Jones. Go check it out! Thanks, Xenos.

We Built This City

Well, not really, but Axelrod vK mapped out what he thinks the last remaining city on Earth will look like. By using a map of Puerto Princesa and in-game/concept reference shots from Destiny he was able to map out key points of interest such as the Traveler and the Tower in relation to the surrounding geography. Neat!

We're touched. (No, not that way.)

Firestream had some time today, and created a pair of DBO-specific desktops (Variant 1 | Variant 2) - grab one and show off our beautiful logo whenever you're at your computer! These are enormous - 3200x2400, weighing in at about 3.5 mb each - so you can scale them to almost any screen. If a DBO-specific desktop doesn't cut it for you, check out his Tricorn version - 1920x1200, just over 300kb. Love this one too!

A missed summary contains lots of tantalizing tidbits

fallen_tank.pngOXM UK posted an article summarizing the February press event... all the way back on February 22 (less than a week after Destiny was officially revealed). It contained a plethora of story/universe references that other news outlets missed... and until yesterday, when Mr Daax linked to it, I hadn't even realized it existed! Absolutely worth a read - even if it IS a little old!

'Make a game as good as that.'

Marty O'Donnell shared some fascinating tidbits with the press about the music he and Mike Salvatori created with the help of Paul McCartney last year. Head over to Polygon for a summary of the talk. (For what it's worth, the quote that the title for this newspost came from was not Marty's - it was Mike's.)

Straight from the source.

In addition to today's ViDoc, Bungie has released a wealth of new Destiny content at various official pages:

  • DestinyTheGame.com has launched and provides links to a concept art gallery as well as a place where you can preorder the game (Xbox 360 and PS3).
  • The Bungie Store has been updated, though currently you might have an easier time finding the new stuff on Amazon. New shirts, posters, decals, and a very limited edition lithograph!
  • Bungie.net has a new media page with more concept art.
  • The ARG from the past week has concluded and the reward is ample: a new page provides a number of beautiful desktops and a jaw-dropping taste of the Destiny soundtrack.
Enjoy!
