The State of Destiny 2

As promised, Bungie posted a roadmap of the changes coming soon to Destiny (some as early as next week, some as late as "early 2018"), with the goal of not only being more transparent in their communications with the fanbase, but in being more transparent with reward systems within the game. It's a pretty interesting read - check it out! We've got a forum thread started, if you want to react.

Final Curse of Osiris Livestream Postponed

DeeJ posted a note over in the Bungie.net forums this morning, explaining that tomorrow's scheduled Twitch Livestream will be postponed, in order to focus on some higher-level info about Destiny 2's roadmap, going forward. Look for a Bungie Blog post tomorrow. (We'll be sure to point it out if you miss it.)

Tomorrow, we had planned to conduct the final stream prior to the launch of “Curse of Osiris” to show off some of the weapons and armor the expansion includes. Instead, we are investing all our efforts into delivering some higher priority information about Destiny 2. You’ll hear from studio leadership about their assessment of Destiny all up, they’ll talk about our goals for the game going forward, and you’ll also learn about how we’re reacting to your feedback with some game updates that will arrive in the next few weeks.

Wondering about Warlock grenade overcharges?

I've seen comments about the ability of Void Warlocks to overcharge their grenade, but it wasn't until I saw Fallout's tutorial that I understood what was actually going on, and what the limits were. (Thanks, Korny, for the heads-up!) Watch this short video for a summary of how the perk works, what you can (and can't) do with it, and what it will cost you. Very cool!

This Week At Bungie - 03/30/2017

Bungie's been busy this week, so the Weekly update is fairly slim. The main focus are the two teasers released for Destiny 2 (all aboard the hype train!), and some record book troubleshooting courtesy of Destiny Player Support. Next week's Bungie Bounty and a very fitting MotW close out the update. As always, a local copy is also available!

The Road Ahead

Bungie has put up an informational post talking about what's coming in the Destiny universe. There's a live event, coming at the end of March (with details about what's included coming over the next 3 Wednesdays), called 'Age of Triumph', which will be the last Destiny 1 event we'll see. Does this mean that Destiny 2 is on the horizon? No word yet! You can swing by this post, however, to prepare yourself for what's in our immediate future.

LEGO Arcadia-class Jumpship

Paul Jeong has built a replica of the Arcadia-class jumpship entirely with LEGO bricks! It’s a pretty impressive model, complete with engine details and a nice paint job. Be sure to hit the link to see more photos. I especially like the ones with the ship photoshopped into the loading scene. (Thanks to Black Six for the link!)

What a Bungie artist does in his spare time

Destiny World Artist Rob Adams spent a year and a half turning his daughter's bedroom into a magical wonderland - you can check out pictures (and comments) on reddit, or watch a local TV news piece on the project. (This is embedded below, for your convenience.) Props to Rob... and thumbs-up to his daughter for having the coolest bedroom in Seattle! Penny Arcade - Showtime

Penny Arcade has had a number of their comic strips reference Destiny in the past, but this new one almost made me shed a tear of admiration for all the Fallen I've slaughtered! Thanks to SigbiasSilva for pointing it out in our forum.

Necromancer's Light

Eep, almost forgot - Korny stopped in this morning with another of his Exotic concepts. This one's called 'Necromancer's Light', and it's a pair of Warlock Gauntlets that turns a Stormcaller into a serious medic. Pretty cool - check it out and let him know what you think!

Court of Oryx Twitch Reveal Teaser

Bungie has posted the teaser for the latest Twitch Reveal. This one will focus on patrol mode on the Dreadnaught as well as the new public events called Court of Oryx. Watch below, and then come back tomorrow to watch the twitch stream (11am PDT/2PM EDT):

Bungie Weekly Update: The Dreadnaught Awaits

The Bungie Weekly Update is up, and this week it focuses on the Hive Dreadnaught and hints at some of the mysteries we'll uncover within. As is Bungie's style, nothing TOO specific, but there is awesome art, and quite a few good quotes on what they intend to do with this new, enigmatic location. In addition they cover the big winners for Destiny Year One Art Contest, and take a little time to cover the losers who are now suffering from the dreaded Banhammer. [Xenos hates me, but it's local, too. -ce]

Today's Penny Arcade is, once again, Destiny-related. And again, they've been spying on me, because I feel like I said all of this stuff last night. Two thumbs up. (Except for the spying. That's creepy.)

New Bungie trademark fuels guesswork

A few days ago, AllGamesBeta noticed a filing at the US Patent Office by Bungie - for 'Eververse' and 'Eververse Trading Company' (and an accompanying logo). Their search links have expired, but the story was picked up again this morning by other sites, including Gamespot. The newest speculation is intriguing - they're wondering if Bungie will be introducing a player trading system. (There is no evidence that this is anything other than speculation... but if we learn more we'll let you know.)

Fallout's PvP Guide - Bladedancer

Fallout stopped by with his latest Destiny PVP guide - this one focuses on the Bladedancer. Fallout gets fairly in-depth regarding the Bladedancer’s abilities and provides some tips on how to successfully use these abilities on the battlefield. Go cut some fools!

Dads Versus Crota

The Bungie Bounty is on a mystical, satanic creature this week - Crota himself. The Dads of Destiny, alongside three Bungie representatives including Urk, will take a step into the darkness and see if they can emerge victorious at 8:30 PM Pacific. It's been a little while since we mentioned the Guardians of Destiny (it was all the way back in November, actually), but we're doing it again - and not just because they had me on as a guest.
