One thing I love about Bungie fan art is that it comes in a wide variety of styles; this colorful piece is "SupersTrio" by MasterCoy. (Nice find, Hedge.)
Hedgemony often scours DeviantArt for Destiny fan images, and this time his search resulted in "The Strength of the Pack" by neoninz. Be sure to check out the original file, as the preview image above fails to convey the titanic havok of the full sketch.
A work-in-progress sketch by our resident artist, Leviathan. Very cool.
Hedgemony found this awesome piece of Destiny fan art by GabeRose over at DeviantArt. Very cool art style!
"In fact, at times I'm challenged when I look at something on a big screen and I think, 'was that current or next-gen?'" Osborne added.
Eurogamer spoke with Urk about how Destiny looks on current gen and next gen, what the differences are, and if the current gen is left in the dust. What he has to say sounds promising, no matter what console you're gearing towards. Urk even dropped a line on the same subject in our own forum earlier this week!
Just a quick heads-up that we've posted a local copy of our photos from the "Ghosts in the Machine" concept art gallery that opened on Thursday in Seattle.
The "Ghosts in the Machine" show began today, and we're already finding photos of new Destiny concept art around the internet. (The one above comes from the Ltd. Art Gallery twitter page.) Keep your eyes peeled - the exhibit is open until November 3rd!
As seen in some of the articles posted this week, as well as showcased in the Weekly Update yesterday, some new concept art has been dribbling out of our favorite studio. Bungie's concept art gallery has been updated with these, and the gallery actually included a few I had missed, like this one, "Hive Lair".
Looks like our predecessors might have delved too greedily and too deep...There's been a handful of Dave Dunn interviews from the Australian side of game journalism in the last few days. Our local Pony Express rider, Xenos, has so far highlighted two of them in the forums: Gameplanet's "Designing Destiny" and AusGamer's "Interview...". AusGamer also has some concept art/screenshots you may have not seen before in their gallery, like these beauties above and below:
Thanks, Xenos (Gameplanet thread / AusGamer thread). And apologies for the terrible headline, everyone.Ooh, this is really cool (and another event that makes me sad I don't live anywhere near Seattle): a coming exhibit at the LTD Gallery in Seattle is going to be full of beautiful art from Bungie. Thanks for pointing it out in our forums, broony!
(After a bunch of boring receptions in college, one I'd actually love to go to...)
Hey remember that Warlock I drew a while back? Here's a Titan to go along with it, with a Hunter on its way (she got stuck in a public event I think, she'll catch up).
Click above for a larger version. After that Hunter, maybe I'll look into continuing this series for our villian factions...
I believe this is the first time we've seen this piece of Old Russia concept art! It popped up on the personal CGHub page of Bungie artist Jess van Dijk. I hope those Guardians are wearing thick coats!
Well this is easily the cutest Titan you'll see all day! The full-res version can be found over at tomsaville's Deviant Art page. (Nice find, Hedge!)
Looking good, Hedgem0ny.
It would seem this is going to be a busy week! DeeJ stopped by the PlayStation EU forums in the wee hours of the morning to give us our first look at the Destiny retail box art. In addition, it sounds like we'll be seeing a new gameplay trailer tomorrow and maybe even some pre-order announcements as well. Join the conversation in the forum and let us know what you think! Thanks to Hedge for the heads-up. [update!] Looks like Bungie will be taking us to The Moon tomorrow. Hat-tip to ZackDark in the forums.
Bungie fan ~LeviSummers has posted a colorful batch of fan art on his Deviant Art page: a Warlock, a Titan, and a Hunter. Gorgeous!
It's been a while since we heard any news about Music of the Spheres, but the wait just got a little easier: Bungie.net now has an archive of all the Destiny music released thus far. The three pieces available now are "Eighth", "Law of the Jungle", and "Awakenings". Go listen!
EDIT: Silence fills this empty post, now that page is gone. But my mind is not at rest, for questions linger on...
A few days ago, Bungie fan Matty Armitage tweeted this excellent piece of Destiny art. Has the Black Garden been overrun by a plague of Spider Tanks? Has the hunter become the hunted?
3D-artist Javelin/Dustin Gagner shared his recreation of a piece of Bungie concept art from their GDC panel to the Bungie.Net Forums. You can check out more views and in-progress shots on his blog. Holy crap.
Actual news? ... I got nothing, sorry. I don't know where Claude keeps his magic bag of secrets. But I did sketch a Warlock to make up for it. Then ruined it with markers. Then scanned it and salvaged it in Photoshop. Whew!
Click above for a larger version. Makes a good wallpaper/lock screen for your fancy mobile gizmos. Hunter, Titan sketch cards coming in the future.
Edge published an interview with Bungie's art director Chris Barrett about building a living breathing world filled with story and history. Chris talks about iteration, influences and striking a balance between a believable but idealized universe. (Thanks, Xenos.)
ConceptCody posted this cute lil' guy to the Destiny subreddit today. Go look - I'd love to see a whole series of Destiny Babies from this artist! (Jump straight to the art.)
invsmchn continues to create incredible works of Destiny fan art - his latest creation is a Warlock themed midtop shoe and it's everything your feet could ever ask for. Eat your heart out, Marty McFly.
