Despite a relatively slow news week in the buildup to the Destiny 2 gameplay reveal on May 18, this Bungie Weekly Update details Bungie's efforts to greet Destiny 2 with a bang. Most notably, the upcoming Iron Banner will have Mayhem Clash as the gametype! Not only that, but some of the most coveted IB loot is up for grabs (including the Clever Dragon and The Silvered Dread), so there's never been a better time to hop into Iron Banner.
In other update news, Destiny Player Support has let us know that the maintenance that was scheduled for this week has been postponed to the week of May 16th, those of you in the Qatar region of the game will have a Bungie Bounty specially tailored to you, and the Movies of the Week are great if you're into montages of all kinds. This week, Bungie's update came a little bit later than usual - likely because they were busy figuring out who to invite to the Destiny 2 gameplay Premiere in a few weeks. More details about this, along with B.net forum multi-language localization info, new Mentors and Ninjas on B.net, stickers for your iPhone iMessages, and the usual standard inclusions (support notes, fan videos) can be found in this week's missive (either on b.net, linked above, or locally, in our own archive). Mankitten stopped in last week (everyone seems to stop in when I'm gone!) with a cool piece of art - it's all of his Destiny characters, showing off together. If you don't like orange and black color schemes, you're gonna hate this. Otherwise, it rocks.

Bungie posted their latest update yesterday, as they usually do on Thursdays, and although our local copy went up then as well, it isn't making it to the front page until now. Apologies - it's awfully blustery today here in Seattle! Bungie's been busy this week, so the Weekly update is fairly slim. The main focus are the two teasers released for Destiny 2 (all aboard the hype train!), and some record book troubleshooting courtesy of Destiny Player Support. Next week's Bungie Bounty and a very fitting MotW close out the update. As always, a local copy is also available!
Esoterickk (remember him?) returns with yet another mind-blowing solo run, this time beating the updated Crota's End in its entirety. What's even more astonishing than the fact that the updated raid launched just yesterday afternoon, is the fact that a number of mechanics were added specifically to make it all but impossible to solo. How he gets around these mechanics (hint: he's a Warlock) is half the fun of watching the run, so check it out! Thanks, Schedonnardus!
Destiny Update 2.6.0 has landed, and the Age of Triumph is upon us! Patch notes are available on Bungie.net, (and CyberKN posted a version in our forum, too). A little late, but there's a local version in our Patch Note Archive now, as well.
And if you’re in the shopping mood, the Bungie Store has updated its stock as well; some new posters, AoT gear, and a few oldies have been refreshed.
It may seem like old news now, but Age of Triumph lands later today along with Update 2.6.0! Bungie has posted some helpful information to their Destiny Server and Update Status page with scheduled timelines for Destiny, Companion App, and Bungie.net maintenance, so please give it a read if you’re having trouble connecting today.
The update should start deploying at 10am Pacific, so get out there and start your victory laps, Guardians!
Bungie's update this week does not confirm or deny the veracity of any recently "leaked" info, but that doesn't mean folks won't find plenty of info. The main focus is on this week's Sandbox Update stream (the final stream before next week's launch of the Age of Triumph update). You will find a recap of the AoT Sandbox reveal (as well as answers to questions that were not addressed in the stream), and Destiny Player Support has some important info to help you prepare for next week's update (2.6.0). Rounding out the Weekly Update is info on tomorrow's Bungie Bounty, and a varied selection of Movies of the Week. As always, a local copy is available for reading, and be sure to clear out some vault space for that sweet Vault of Glass loot!
The weekly update from Bungie was delayed a day - but it's up now. Unsurprisingly, it's focused on the soon-to-arrive Age of Triumph event - if you missed Wednesday's stream showing off the Rituals Archive, it's included in this update. There are also details about Crucible changes, explanations of how the Story Playlist will work, and all the regular features you've come to expect - support notes, Bungie Bounty details, and fan-created videos. A few days ago, bluerunner pointed out a pretty amazing exploration video - reddit's djxyz0 announced that he'd successfully reached Atheon's throne room from Patrol. It's a long video (which probably explains its absence from this week's update over at Bungie.net)... but if you like exploration, it's inspiring. Give it a watch, and see what 2 years of dedication can bring you!

Kotaku has a heartwarming story for you this week. Mike Mariana was a Destiny player who was dying of colon cancer - but before the disease took him, his friends got together and helped him reach the Lighthouse. (They also helped raise thousands of dollars to help his family handle some of his medical bills.) Gamers rock.
Yeah, it's Sunday, so this is a little late... but hey, it's art! Mankitten let us know that he put this together while thinking about the road ahead... nice work!
Bungie has put up an informational post talking about what's coming in the Destiny universe. There's a live event, coming at the end of March (with details about what's included coming over the next 3 Wednesdays), called 'Age of Triumph', which will be the last Destiny 1 event we'll see. Does this mean that Destiny 2 is on the horizon? No word yet! You can swing by this post, however, to prepare yourself for what's in our immediate future.
The update that dropped yesterday was pretty light - mostly it said "wait until tomorrow for more news." (That news has dropped - see the next news post.) It's got the standard stuff - notes from the Support team, word of the next Bungie Bounty, some fan-created vids (the Nova Bomb catch was pretty cool, and the sub-3-minute Nightfall was impressive), but mostly this was a 'hey, more coming soon' update.
