Over the past few days, Bungie has been releasing stories leading up to Season of the Hunt. Tales of Osiris and The Crow (so far). cheapLEY has started a thread on the forum with links to each story. Grab a coffee or beverage of choice and enjoy the reading.
Last night we saw The Traveler wake up in response to the approaching darkness. Well, some of us got to see it. With wide spread server and connection issues, not everyone got to login to be a part of it. Paul Tassi at Forbes has a pretty good write up and timeline of the events that you can view here.
On our forum, cheapLEY streamed the event on Twitch. You can find it in his post here. The Destiny 2 social media accounts released another cryptic video. This time showing what might be the Clovis Bray facilities and teasing some Exo creation history perhaps? We will soon find out.

It'll be interesting to see if this scriptable weather comes to existing locations like the EDZ, or to the newly revived Cosmodrome that we're getting with Beyond Light.
Today, Bungie in partnerships with the Gaming Community Expo raised more that $800,000 dollars for St. Jude Hospital during a four hour streaming block. As donation goals were reached, sketches were drawn, lore was read by some well known Destiny voices, and we got a few little previews of things to come... including a reveal that a memorable, luck-reliant exotic hand cannon that we all quickly obtained back in Destiny 1 is returning. ;)
Martin O'Donnell, who did some music for some games you may have heard of including Halo, Destiny, and Golem, stopped by our forum to drop off a cool talk about composing music for video games. There's great insights and a bunch of fun stories included within. Definitely interesting stuff!
The last two This Week At Bungie articles over at Bungie.net have been notably forthcoming about upcoming changes to various Destiny features and activities.
In their April 23rd update, Bungie talked about creating a more rewarding Trials of Osiris and delved relatively deeply into some of Destiny 2's current and upcoming safeguards against cheaters. Although Bungie can't share all their anti-cheat details, it was interesting to learn that they are partnering with other high profile companies like Valve to combat certain forms of cheating.
This week, Bungie first put a spotlight as to the reasons why Titans have been fairing so well in the Guardian Games. Turns out Titans are just trying harder than the other classes. Bungie then spent some time talking about their plans to keep more seasonal activities around for newer players even as the game continues to move forward. Having hand picked seasonal weapons show up in normal activities like Strikes and the Crucible seemed like a nice win.
Really, the last two weekly updates have been pretty packed with useful info beyond just the aforementioned updates. Bungie's charitable efforts to assist with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic are a nice read, for instance. You can check both updates out at the links above, or head on over to our highly searchable Bungie Weekly Updates Archive.
This morning, Bungie announced a new series of bounties and challenges in which Titans can compete to prove, once and for all, that they, and not so much Hunters and Warlocks, are the wall against which The Darkness breaks.
But don’t worry non-Titans, all classes get access to new ships, sparrows, weapons, and cool class themed Ghosts. The Titan Games kick off April 21st and runs through May 11th after which Titan banners will, surely, decorate The Tower for the rest of the year. Oh, and there’s a cool looking physical reward for players to earn, as well!
For more info, check out Bungie’s Titan Games page, or watch the announcement video below.
Bungie also teased more support for the Essential Workers who are helping us all during these troubles times.
As always, you can read the update over at Bungie.net, or at our Weekly Update Archives.
P.S. Bleep Bloop.
While we're playing catch-up, we should point out that Ragashingo has been quite busy over the past month and a half or so, focusing primarily on the origins of the Awoken. (The earliest episode we didn't mention here was Episode 36, which focused on The Fallen Houses... but everything since then has been pulled from The Book of Marasenna, which tells the story of Mara Sov, and her origins.) Here are some links to his forum posts, but remember; these are all archived in our Bite-Sized Backstory Archive (here's a direct link to all of the recent posts).
Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 27, is the end of Season 4 of Destiny 2, and the recent Weekly Update from Bungie gives you some idea about what's going away, and what's coming in Season 5. There's also word of a new comic release, coming later this week - go give it a read! As always, there's a local copy in our Archives.
Yo! Bungie dropped this weeks update Hot! We updated d- I'm sorry, I can't do it. Let's try this the normal way... Bungie's weekly update this week reminds you that Thunderlord just became available (grab it via a guaranteed quest line until the 27th, or wait for RNG to bless you with it after that), provides you with an overview of the next Season, launching November 27, previews some of the upcoming changes to Gambit, and offers the standard Player Support Report and fan-created videos. Read it on Bungie.net, or read it here, in our Archives!
This (last) week at Bungie, Festival of the Lost returns to Destiny! And more importantly, paper masks are back as well! Grab the free chicken mask, and prepare your wallet for a three-mask Bundle that will be available from the Bungie store (both digital and physical!).
And speaking of your wallet; if you have yet to buy any of the Destiny 2 DLCs, you'll instantly save $20 if you decide to jump in starting on October 16th, as Curse of Osiris and Warmind will be included with your purchase of Forsaken. Wondering what jumping in early entitles you to? Bungie's got you covered with a couple of exclusive veteran emotes and shader/emblem combo! By Sunbreaker's hammer, what a savings!
And because we clearly don't have enough great things coming on the 16th, Iron Banner returns, and Saladin's bringing double and triple Valor with it, along with Powerful Engrams in every bounty (better start cashing in those sick days)! Warm up your Telesto or preferred Crucible Crutch weapon of choice, because Saladin's selling the fantastic Claws of the Wolf pulse rifle.
Wrapping up the update, Bungie's got some Tweets in several languages (Has recibido un Tránsito de Borde!), server maintenance scheduled for several timezones, known errors across several platforms, and music videos from several genres!
As always, you can read the local copy available here.
