Weekly Update: King's Fall and Xur

The first Bungie Weekly Update of The Taken King era is now online over at Bungie.net! There you can find the new King’s Fall Raid trailer, as well as some good information about Xûr’s new bag-o-tricks for year two. We’ll have a local copy up soon (well, now). (Thanks, Schedonnardus!)

The Taken King Soundtrack Available Now

Bungie has made the digital edition of The Taken King soundtrack available at the Bungie Store. It includes music from The Taken King obviously, as well as the music we heard during The Dark Below and House of Wolves. No news yet on when (or if) it will be available elsewhere, but it DOES come with Apple Lossless, FLAC, and MP3 formats, plus digital liner notes and an exclusive in-game emblem! Not too bad!

Destiny Hot Fix 2.0.0.2

Bungie has posted what will most likely be the final update before The Taken King releases tonight at 2AM PDT. Read the notes at Bungie.net or below:

2.0.0.2 - The One about the Collector's Edition

Before we launch Destiny: The Taken King, there's time for a fix impacting the delivery of items associated with the Collector's Edition.

General

• Fixed issues with Taken King Collector’s Edition items:
  • Armor awards can now be found in the correct portion of the Postmaster's interface
  • Packages now produce the correct item even if opened by a different class
  • Players who might have been affected by this issue will be provided the correct armor piece

Bungie has posted the patch notes for Destiny Update 2.0.0, in preparation for next week's release of The Taken King. The list is monstrously long, so either swing by Bungie.net to read it, or check it out here in our own Patch Notes Archive - but either way, take a look, because this will affect almost everything you do in the game!

BWU 9/03/15 - Change Is Coming

Yesterday's update recaps the recent reveals and shows off a new Crucible trailer letting us know that all Guardians, whether or not you bought The Taken King, will have access to the new Crucible maps for a limited time as a preview. There's also some patch notes on more of the changes coming in 2.0, news that the Moments of Triumph deadline has been slightly extended, and some tips in there on how to prepare for Taken King. Catching Up!

So we missed posting the Bungie Weekly Update last week. It's actually been sitting in our BWU archive but we didn't tell you about it. I'm going to blame all of our admin that was having fun at PAX this weekend and not me, sitting at home not really doing anything but crying.

The update reiterates on the Dreadnaught Strike reveal from earlier last week, the upcoming Edge magazine's cover story, and most importantly (and divisively) reveals changes to Nighfall and Heroic Strikes coming in 2.0.

DBO at PAX 2015: The Taken Kingpin

It's that time of year again, when eager fans from all over gather together to meet up with friends and celebrate their favorite games. Yes, football season is a very special time of year and I always enjoy the sense of community it brings. I suppose the Penny Arcade Expo is fun too.

If you happen to be in Seattle this weekend (for PAX or otherwise) and want to meet up with your fellow DBO members, make your way to Garage Billiards at 7:00 PM on Saturday, August 29th. There you can join us for an evening of bowling, billiards, beers, and burgers. Heck, we might even stop talking about football to discuss some other game. (More details in this forum post.)

Game Informer Summarizes Destiny's Story and Lore

Didn't pay much attention to Destiny's story? Didn't read the Grimoire? Or just didn't follow it's vagueness? Well Game Informer has you covered! Today's article in their month long coverage summarizes the story of the base game and both expansions, as well as the lore you can only find in the Grimoire (and there may even be a few hints about story to come).
