Saturday? Sunday? Same thing, right? Ragashingo ends the first run of Speculation Saturday (until there's more to dissect in the future) by shifting gears and throwing the spotlight on Destiny's actual gameplay: Combat, A.I., Fireteams, and all that jazz. Go tell him how wrong or right you think he is!
Nice work, petetheduck.

Hedge posted in the forum to let us know that the latest PlayStation Blogcast (#90) has an interview with Bungie community manger Eric Osborne (Urk)! It sounds like this is the first in a number of Bungie interviews they'll be presenting in their podcast! The entire episode clocks in at 1 hour 45 minutes, and the Urk interview kicks off at 15:10 and lasts around 12 minutes.
Most heavy weapons give off a distinct gunpowder smell; the Thunderlord, however, leaves the pungent stench of ozone in its wake. Bungie's latest Destiny Drawing Board is up, and the tool of destruction on display should be familiar to anyone that has watched Rixis the Archon Slayer fall in battle. Read on to see how exactly this electric beast rolled forth from the stormy depths.
This week's recording of Guardian Radio has been released by the Guardians of Destiny for your enjoyment. Watts is back from his two-week hiatus, joining the gang as they take a few calls from listeners. Check it out! (Thanks, rol-- Xenos.)
There's a new Breaking In article on Bungie.net today, this week featuring Multiplayer tester and Bungie veteran John Harris. John's duties involve tracking down bugs in Destiny's competitive multiplayer so that when the game lands next year we're treated to a smooth and exploit-free experience. And he does this by playing Destiny multiplayer every day. It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it!
Back in August, we mentioned Karin Olava's cosplay Hunter, in construction. Recently, she's been tweeting up a storm about it: on September 7, she posted a bone bracer for the forearm, on September 13 she said she was 95% done (with awesome pics!), then later that afternoon, she showed off the Sculpey details for her rocket launcher. This morning, she posted a WIP shot of the launcher itself... I want one!
Mr Danger pointed out a tweet from Eurogamer Expo suggesting that Destiny CONTENT would be at the Expo, though playable Destiny would not. His best guess? The Fallen Statue from Gamescom. (A good guess!)
Two new stories have been released from the queue for your Monday morning reading. First, WM has added the fifth installment of his Vanguards of Dead Orbit series -- lots of action! Next, Godshaker continues the Traxis saga and speculates on the nature of exotic weapons in Destiny. Grab a coffee and dive into some fan fiction!
Argnarock and XenekosX, two of the earliest known Destiny cosplayers, are an engaged couple that wore Hunter and Warlock costumes to Metrocon in Tampa this past July. The results of their photoshoot have finally been posted, showing off the impressive weapons and armor the duo put together.
You can find image galleries at Argnarock's and XenekosX's individual Deviant art pages, but this Facebook gallery seems to be the most comprehensive.
(Thanks go to Destiny Updates for the new tip.)
Bungie fan ~LeviSummers has posted a colorful batch of fan art on his Deviant Art page: a Warlock, a Titan, and a Hunter. Gorgeous!
The latest episode of Podtacular (#389, to be exact) takes a break from the show's usual Halo focus to shine the spotlight on Destiny. Podcast host Dust Storm is joined by three guests from Guardian Radio (Mark Turcotte, Craig Hardgrove, and Derrick Smith) to have a chat about Bungie's next game. Check it out!
Another episode of Guardian Radio v.5 has been posted, chronicling the mysterious past of the chatty A.I. known as Strauss. Apparently this series will continue under the name "Ghosts and Echoes", with the full set of past transmissions available on a new archive page. Go listen!
It seems that our friendly neighborhood Mail Sack is back to its regular schedule! This week's edition opens with news of a new Bungie Podcast (inbound and coming in hot!) and is chock-full of community questions about life at Bungie. As always, go check it out to get the full scoop, and then wonder with me about what a "Strikes Tester" does.
It's been a while since we heard any news about Music of the Spheres, but the wait just got a little easier: Bungie.net now has an archive of all the Destiny music released thus far. The three pieces available now are "Eighth", "Law of the Jungle", and "Awakenings". Go listen!
EDIT: Silence fills this empty post, now that page is gone. But my mind is not at rest, for questions linger on...
Over at Reddit, roverdover set the 'Law of the Jungle' footage to Gary Jules' version of 'Mad World' - it changed the flavor of Gears of War, it was seriously overused for lots and lots of flavors of Halo... and now it's given a Destiny piece a whole new tone. Go watch!
Zam has a new article on their roundtable interview with Urk covering aspects of Destiny's shared world experience. Not a whole lot of new information, but he points out how these kinds of multiplayer dynamics have been part of Bungie's focus all the way back to Minotaur; and have evolved over time. Go check it out! (Hat-tip to Xenos in the forum. )
The crew from GameOverCast were able to grab some time with DeeJ during Gamescom - and they've included the interview on their latest podcast. DeeJ does a masterful job of deflecting all the specific questions while still providing some tasty content, and reminds you why Bungie's being coy in the first place. It's worth a listen! (The podcast is nearly 2 hours, and the Destiny content begins more than halfway through - but they're giving away a bunch of cool stuff, including a Tritton headset - so you might want to listen to the entire thing.) Thanks to radarhead for letting us know on our forum. (His post includes an iTunes link if you'd rather listen there.)
Desti-Nation created 'Duel of the Fates' - it's a fan-made trailer that uses Star Wars music to bring out the oomph in some recent Destiny footage. Feels really great! Go watch.
DattoDoesDestiny posted an August recap of Destiny news last week - if you feel like you might have missed some of the Destiny news that came out last month, this 6-minute video should summarize what we know, and help you feel comfortable that you're on top of the news to date.
Episode 28 of Guardian Radio is out! The group discusses the latest Bungie video, runs through a gauntlet of True/False questions, and sorts through a stack of listener emails. (Thanks, roland.)
