Conscars, at DestinyHub, has written up his predictions for what we'll learn about Destiny during the Game Developers Conference starting next Monday - he takes hints from a variety of published sources to come up with ideas about what might be next, and whether he's right or not, it's a pretty interesting read! Check it out. Thanks, Spawn.
DeeJ opened up another mail sack thread on Bnet - go ahead and ask a question, or else...
Ready Up Live's Greenskull digs into the latest Bungie mail sack - go watch!
I was convinced, after MUCH debate, to add a news-only Twitter feed to HBO a little while ago. Turns out, it's a pretty useful tool for folks with Twitter accounts who want to keep track of new content from their favorite fansite. (We ARE your favorite fansite, aren't we? AREN'T WE?) So the question of a Twitter account for DBO was never really about 'do we do it?' but 'how do we do it?'
The crew of DBO is much more socially integrated than the old guard at HBO - there was a lot of push for a fully interactive feed. You can tweet us Destiny news, we can tweet you DBO posts, and we can answer your questions. But what about people who really just want notifications of new newsposts at DBO? Should they be left out in the cold (or have their Twitter stream inundated with discussion they're not interested in) just because they don't feel like jumping to our front page every once in a while?
Our solution was simple: we've got TWO feeds. One is just newsposts - it's a mirror of the HBO Twitter feed. You get a headline, and a link to the full article if you want to read it. The other includes these posts, as well... but ALSO allows full interaction. A number of people will be monitoring the feed, and responding to tweets from you, the public. You get to choose how much DBO to put in your Twitter stream. Either way, you get a GORGEOUS new piece of artwork from Levi to look at - please do NOT miss it.
DeeJ has posted a new Mail Sack over on Bungie.net, go give it a read and check out a new round of great questions and answers for this week. Thanks to Xenos for the heads-up in the forum!
Gamestop reports that the United States Patent & Trademark Office received trademark applications from Bungie for Cabal, Vex, Fallen, Glimmer and Hive.
If the USPTO grants Bungie the trademarks, the developer will be able to use them to create and sell interactive game software, graphic novels, Halloween costumes, TV programs, ringtones, and footwear, among a long list of other items based on the names.
The Cabal, Vex and Fallen are the known enemies in Destiny, but Hive and Glimmer have never been previously mentioned - interesting. Thanks to Bungie Informer for the heads up.
We've begun to build an 'Official Destiny Video Archive', containing media released by Bungie (and possibly Activision) related to Destiny. As of now, there are only a couple of videos - but this will grow! You can watch streaming versions, or download SD or HD versions for offline use.

In two weeks, Bungie's Chris Barrett and Joe Staten will take the stage at the 2013 Game Developers Conference, and discuss Destiny in front of a pretty sophisticated audience.
In a presentation filled with concept art and design case studies, attendees will learn about Bungie's world building pillars, and see how these were put to use to create Bungie's next great universe of games.
The talk focuses on art and design collaboration - if you're lucky enough to be able to attend, you'll get a flavor of what Bungie's trying to do with this new property!
The site continues to grow, and evolve - just yesterday, we settled on a logo, and today, we launch the first of what will hopefully be a myriad of galleries (artwork, screenshots, fan creations, you name it). This time out, it's material you've seen before - we're putting up our copy of the announce assets. (You may not have seen these SIZES before; Fireteam is nearly 10,000 pixels across in its full glory.) Keep an eye on that new link in the header - we hope to add more content there shortly!
Whoa. TDSpiral stopped in last night with a new piece of fan art - almost a speed painting. (He whipped it together in 5 hours.) It's gorgeous! He also released a Wallpaper version. The cockles of my heart are warm. Maybe it's the subcockle area, actually...
An article on GenGAME explains to you why the announcement for Destiny should not be considered 'disappointing'. (Funny - I didn't consider it 'disappointing' even BEFORE I read the article...)
nRGmusicproduction recreated the music from the Destiny PS4 reveal trailer using Reaper. MathChief11 combined the recreated music with a sideshow of official and fan-made Destiny art - very cool!
kapowaz dropped by with info from the latest Edge magazine - some intriguing tidbits buried in there! Go give it a read. (No scans, of course - just some text descriptions. If you want to see the original material, help keep Edge in business and pick up a copy!)
Postmortem noticed a couple of new images created by the same guy who whipped up this piece of Destiny concept art - do these give us an idea about Destiny locations (and an enemy), or are they just personal work by the artist? (Original links are here and here.) You decide! Update: looks like they're just personal work. Bummer! (Thanks, WestCoastRonin.)
Narcogen has taken a look at what Bungie had hoped to do with Halo, and compared this to what they DID do... and he uses this information to speculate about Destiny's future, based on what we've seen so far. Interesting article! Thanks to Xenos for pointing it out.
The Guardians of Destiny released the third episode of their Guardian Radio podcast - they cover the latest mail sack, newly released concept art and discuss the idea of aiming down the sights being in Destiny. Go listen! Thanks, Cambone.
Reconcilliation was curious about the lack of speculation surrounding the concept art we've been given so far - so he kicked off a thread showing off the images, and daring people to jump in. It's off to a fine start - go read, and see what you can add, yourself!
NartFOpc stopped by with a couple of pictures - one shows off his brand-new Fallen lithograph, now framed and on his wall (noice!), while the other shows off some very cool fan-created Halo props he just received (he said he wouldn't crosspost, the meanie). Go look!
calcarlson shared his Space Zombie sculpture on the Bnet forums - for not having many references, I think the sculpt turned out really nice. If you haven't already, be sure to also check out his Fallen sculpture from last week. I can't wait to see what he does next!
Ready Up Live's Greenskull gives the rundown on the latest Bungie mail sack - there are a lot of great Destiny snippets to digest.
It may seem like we're light on news - and we are. But behind the scenes, things are coming together; DBO will begin to flesh out in the coming days and weeks, with more sections coming online, and more opportunities for fans to show off their love. Don't go too far away!
It's Friday, which means another Mail Sack has dropped on Bungie.net! There's a great assortment of Destiny-related questions from the community today, so drop by and give it a read.
Thanks to bluerunner for the heads-up on the forum.
